Happy 8/11 Day!
The Indiana 811 team was busy celebrating 8/11 Day this year! The Aug. 11 date is a natural reminder to contact 811 before digging, and this week Indiana 811 is reminding both homeowners and professional industry stakeholders of the importance of safe digging.
8/11 Day at the Indiana State Fair
Headed to the State Fair? You won’t miss our vibrant signage throughout, as Indiana 811 is the sponsor of this year’s Indiana State Fair. State Fair-goers can take a walk through the fairgrounds until Aug. 22 to see the 811 Before You Dig message on sky carts, hand sanitizer stations, sidewalk signs and the iconic Midway Arch. Indiana 811 took over the Fair today for the first-ever 811 Day at the Great Indiana State Fair. To promote the safe digging message, staff at the gate entrance wore 811-branded safety vests and the Indiana 811 marketing and liaison team distributed branded materials, such as hand sanitizers, to fair attendees.
811-Branded Cookie Drops
The Indiana 811 liaison team traveled throughout Indiana this week to deliver 811-branded cookies to radio stations and community partners in cities across the state. What sweeter way to spread the importance of contacting 811 before any digging project!
Minor League Baseball
Play ball! Indiana 811 is partnering with various minor league teams in Indiana throughout the month to share the safe digging message to baseball fans, including two Indianapolis Indians games this week! Fans will hear an in-game interview about 811, see branding throughout the stadium, and be treated to a limited number of 811 Superhero capes for children! A Superhero message will play on the big screen during the game.
